Judging the Event by its Cover

Save the Dates

Wedding season is upon us!!
I am sure you have been noticing more wedding invites, save-the-dates, and engagement announcements arriving in the mail lately.  For most of the country, wedding season begins in March and lasts until late October.  The first impression that your guests have of your upcoming event is the announcement or save-the-date you send to reserve the wedding day.  Save-the-dates are a wonderful tool especially for weddings that have many guests traveling to attend.  By sending guests an early announcement of your event, they can begin to make travel arrangements and take time off of work.  Save-the-dates are usually sent out any time from 3 - 5 months before the wedding or event.  While, wedding invites are traditionally sent out 6 weeks before the event.

Since, the purpose of the save-the-dates is to serve as a reminder of the upcoming event, brides and grooms opt for creative and unique announcements that will not be easily forgotten or overlooked by the guests.  Some of the upcoming trends in save-the-dates are magnetic, DIY, and postcard announcements.  Couples have fun with their save-the-dates since they are meant to be more informal than the wedding invites.  Many couples incorporate their fun engagement photo shoot photos in their announcements to make them their own, and create a keepsake for their guests.  Don't forget to include on your announcement, the date of the wedding, where the event will take place, and a link to any related websites!
